I have been a resident of Lyndon, Solihull for 28 years and actively supported Lorely Burt and the local party for the past 8 years. For much of that time I have carried out the role of local party Honorary Treasurer.
Currently there are three Liberal Democrat Councillors looking after the local interests of residents in the Lyndon Ward. In May 2014, Councillor Theresa Tedd will not be seeking re-election after several years hard work in the ward. My aim is to continue as part of the team with our other two Councillors to ensure that the voters are provided with the best services by the Council.
Personal and Professional
I am a qualified former Bank Officer having worked at various International and domestic banks for 20 years up to 1991, following which I completed a Training for Work scheme and gained experience working in Accountancy. I spent a few years as a non-executive Director of the West Midlands Regional Technology Centre and for the past 15 years have carried out an accounts role in Manufacturer based in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
Since school days I enjoyed athletics and chess when I represented my school at senior level at area events. When I worked in banking both abroad and in this country I have played Hockey and taken part in other sports.
In my spare time I enjoy walking and endeavour to maintain my garden and I believe that both help in maintaining some level of fitness.
Current Campaigns and Issues of Interest
I will work closely with my fellow Lib Dem Councillors and will look to represent residents in Lyndon Ward wherever I can. With my background in Accounts and Finance I intend to ensure that value for money in Council spending is maintained.
