We represent the Liberal Democrat Councillors, Candidates and Focus Team Campaigners within the local authority area of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, and the two Parliamentary Constituencies of Solihull and Meriden.
We currently hold 4 out of 51 seats on Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and for 10 years, one of the two parliamentary seats in our region, Solihull, was represented by Lorely Burt. More information about our Liberal Democrat Councillors can be found by clicking on the Councillors link in the About tab above, or by visiting the Solihull Council Web Site.
The Liberal Democrats in Solihull and Meriden have a long record of action for the community. We have fought hard for local residents on important issues such as speeding traffic, local transport routes, green spaces, and supporting local businesses to name just a few.
We distribute regular 'Focus' Newsletters that provide residents with up to date information on our local work and give people the chance to raise new issues with us.
We frequently distribute surveys and knock on doors to make sure we are always listening to what it is important to the people of Solihull and all our councillors hold regular surgeries for residents.
We also ensure our own Local Party is run transparently and democratically with regular Executive meetings and an Annual General Meeting, which serve as forums for Local Party Members who do not hold elected positions to be involved in decision making.
Our social calendar holds many successful and fun events for our Members, Supporters and Volunteers and we welcome and cater for all of our Supporters with our own local diversity programme.
