Liberal Democrats have been representing residents in Olton for many years.

Currently we have two Councillors in the Ward, Lib Dem Group Leader, John Windmill, and Jo Fairburn, who was elected in May 2016.

Both are ready to help Olton residents whenever they can. Do get in touch, using the form at the foot of the page.

8.9% Swing from Tory to Lib Dem

At the Council election on May 5th 2016, voting in the Olton Ward saw a strong swing to Liberal Democrats.

Councillor Jo Fairburn said "I'm very grateful that the people of Olton have put their trust in me. I'll work hard representing them and helping with the issues they face."

No 37 Bus Route Changes

Many residents have complained to us about National Express's 6 month trial which means the no.37 no longer stops at Solihull station.

We've sought assurances from Council officers that this is a genuine trial and that afterwards both NX and Solihull Council will make a decision balancing everyone’s needs. (read more)

Olton Station Parking

Please let us know what you think might be the best solution to the parking problems at Olton Station. The car park doesn't have enough spaces for the rail-users who want to use Olton, and this results in sometimes inconsiderate parking on nearby residential streets.

Please look at potential options and let us know what you think with our one-question survey.

The Olton Team in January.jpgJo Fairburn found a lot of support for extra parking at the station from residents of streets near the station.

"The yellow lines and the white markings to stop people parking across drives hasn't completely solved the problem for people living nearby. There's a still some inconsiderate parking taking place. But I have sympathy for rail users who need to catch a train. They all deserve better."
