At the General Election in Solihull on 5th May 2005, 52313 votes were cast (approximately 67% of the total number of eligible voters) with the following result:

Lorely Burt (Liberal Democrats): 20896 votes (+13.9%).

39.4%

John Taylor (Conservative): 20617 votes (-6%).

15.4%

Rory Vaughan (Labour): 8058 votes (-10.2%).

Diane Carr (British National Party): 1752 votes (+3.3%).

Andrew Moore (UK Independence Party): 990 votes (-0.3%).
