John Windmill narrowly defeated in Olton Ward


After years of council service, John Windmill was narrowly defeated in Olton Ward at the May 3rd election.

John WindmillLong standing Liberal Democrat councillor, John Windmill, narrowly lost his seat in a tight result in the council election for Olton ward.

After a recount it was confirmed that John had been just 26 votes short of his Tory rival. 

The results were

  • Blunt (Conservative) – 1577 votes (42.4%)
  • Windmill (Lib Dem) – 1551 votes (41.7%)
  • Palmer (Labour) – 593 votes (15.9%)
