Build an Elmdon Community Centre

Elmdon community is a wonderful place, with many great facilities. Sadly, the loss of Valley Church Hall and St Stephen's Church Centre have left residents with a gap in places to meet where residents could hold a private event or club.

Since the closure of Valley Church Hall, a number of groups who were using the hall have been unable to find a suitable alternative, highlighting the need for a community space in the local area.

Cllr Laura McCarthy and Cllr Richard Long have raised this with the council on many occasions but have only been pointed in the direction of local libraries as an alternative. Whilst this may accommodate some need, it doesn't cater for everyone.

We are calling on Solihull Council to invest in Elmdon ward by constructing a community centre which would be available to residents and small businesses for local hire. We also ask that the council consults residents on the most suitable site for this to ensure that the community has a say.
