Clear Elmdon Park lake stinging nettles

Update 20/9/21: Success! Councillor Laura McCarthy and Cllr Richard Long made the council aware of the huge response this petition has had from the public before the weekend and this morning an order has been raised to clear the stinging nettles this week! A huge thank you to everyone who signed!

Elmdon Park is a jewel in the crown of Solihull, but unfortunately parts of it are looking neglected and overgrown.

Whilst we appreciate the need for bio-diversity, residents also need to be able to enjoy the park.

Despite many requests for the area to be kept clear, strimming around the lake appears to have stopped and the area has become overrun with stinging nettles.

We would like to see the Council cut back the stinging nettles so that residents can once again enjoy the view of the lake.

Please sign our petition below if you agree.

We, the undersigned, call on Solihull Council to cut back the stinging nettles around Elmdon Park lake.

Thank you

Cllr Laura McCarthy and Cllr Richard Long
