Rowood Drive Speeding Petition

For years Elmdon Liberal Democrats have been calling for action to be taken against speeding on Rowood Drive. We have been successful in having temporary speed visors installed and speed checks undertaken, but more needs to be done to tackle this issue.

On the evening of Friday 8th October a speeding car lost control on a bend on Rowood Drive, crashing into a house and starting a significant fire. Fortunately the accident was not fatal. This is just one in a long list of incidents since our last petition where a speeding vehicle has lost control and crashed into a residents' car or home.

Urgent action needs to be taken before one of these incidents proves fatal.

We are asking Solihull Council to undertake another investigation into Rowood Drive with the view to installing average speed cameras to control the speeding or else consult with residents about their preferred method of traffic calming and implement this.

Please sign our petition if you support this.

We, the undersigned, call on Solihull Council to undertake another investigation into Rowood Drive with the view to installing average speed cameras to control the speeding or else consult with residents about their preferred method of traffic calming and implement this.

Thank you

Cllr Richard Long and Cllr Laura McCarthy
