Council’s Director of Resources issues stark warning of 'bankruptcy risk'

Solihull Council’s Director of Resources has issued a stark warning that the Council could face bankruptcy if urgent savings are not made and government support fails to materialise:

“In the event that insufficient savings can be identified, and if Exceptional Financial Support (EFS) is no longer deemed a viable option or is rejected, the Section 151 officer (Director of Resources) would be put in a position have to consider issuing a Section 114 (bankruptcy) notice.”
