Terry Rich Whitehead at Seven Star Road Zebra Crossing

Terry’s Petition Leads to Speeding Improvements on Seven Star Road

Terry Rich Whitehead’s petition to reduce the speed limit on Seven Star Road to 30mph has been included in traffic safety improvements to Warwick Road and Seven Star Road.

Terry’s success comes after 4 years of Lib Dem campaigns against speeding.  The speed limit on Seven Star Road was reduced in June to 30mph on Seven Star Road and 20mph on the service roads, following Terry’s petition.

Other measures on the A41 Scheme included installation of average speed cameras.

Unfortunately, the Conservative Cabinet Member for Environment and Infrastructure chose to close the crossing point at Beechnut Lane, despite ours and residents' opposition.

Terry thanked residents for their support, saying: "I'd like to say a huge thank you to the hundreds of residents who supported our Lib Dem petition calling for action on speeding.

"This achievement belongs to all of us. By working together and keeping the pressure on, we made Solihull Council listen and take long-overdue action."

The £1.5 million A41 Road Safety Scheme delivered long-requested zebra crossings on Warwick Road and Seven Star Road.

"These crossings will make it easier for residents to cross the Warwick Road to reach the petrol station or to walk to school," Terry said.
