Shock and Concern at 4,000 JLR Job Losses

Solihull Liberal Democrats Cllr Ade Adeyemo outside JLR's Solihull Plant

Councillor Adeyemo, Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Solihull Council and President of the West Midlands Liberal Democrats, expressed his concerns and support for workers in the region.

Councillor Adeyemo said:

"We are deeply concerned to hear the news regarding the voluntary redundancies announced at JLR.

"This is an incredibly unsettling time for the workforce, their families, and our entire community, here in Solihull and across the West Midlands where JLR is one of our largest employers.

"JLR is the heartbeat of our local economy, here in Solihull and across the West Midlands, and many local residents have dedicated years of hard work to the company.

"Our primary focus right now is ensuring that anyone affected by this announcement receives the right support. We will work closely with local authorities, agencies, employment support networks, and community groups to make sure help is readily available for those who need career transition, financial advice or wellbeing support.

“If you or your family are impacted and need guidance on accessing local services, help is out there for you.  We are also here to listen, support, and help you navigate the next steps”.
